Back in January 2023 at CES, Lenovo launched a couple of game-changing devices, including the dual-screen Lenovo YogaBook 9i. Almost a month and a half later, the company is at it again, launching several new laptop models at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona.

While Lenovo has many new devices at its stand, we're focusing on two of the most interesting in its line-up: the Z-series Gen 2 and the IdeaPad Duet 3i. Check out what we discovered in MWC 2023.

Lenovo Z13 and Z16 Gen 2

The Z-series is Lenovo's answer to the demand from the hybrid workforce. These laptops come in two sizes—the 13.3-inch Lenovo Z13 and the 16-inch Lenovo Z16. They also have more than enough power for even the most demanding tasks, as you can pick from a range of AMD Ryzen 7000 processors to serve as their beating hearts.

Since the Z-series Gen 2 runs on Ryzen 7000 chips, you can expect excellent onboard graphics performance via RDNA 3. But if you need something with more power, you can go for the larger Z16 Gen 2 model, which comes with an optional AMD Radeon 6650M graphics card. You can also get them with up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD.

But what differentiates the Z13 and Z16 Gen 2 most are their displays. Both models sport a 16:10 touchscreen display, but you can pick between IPS and OLED screens. For the Z13 Gen 2, you can choose a 1920 x 1200 IPS display or a 2560 x 1600 OLED monitor. On the Z16 Gen 2, the base option is still a 1920 x 1200 IPS screen (but with a larger 16" size), or you could get the 3840 x 2400 4K OLED with 100% color gamut coverage.

The Lenovo ThinkPad TrackPoint on the Z13 Gen 2

Of course, we cannot forget the classic TrackPoint that the original ThinkPad introduced. This offers an alternative to the trackpad for controlling your cursor. And with the Z13 and Z16 Gen 2, you can double tap it to show work and privacy features, like camera and microphone control.

Both laptop models are lightweight, with the Z13 Gen 2 only coming in at 1.19kg, while the larger Z16 Gen 2 adds 620g for a total weight of 1.81kg.

Aside from these powerful business machines, Lenovo also introduced the latest version of its budget offering, the IdeaPad Duet 3i. This two-in-one device is powered by a 12th-gen Intel Celeron or Pentium processor with up to 8GB DDR5 RAM and a 256GB SSD. It also comes with Windows 11, allowing you to install most of the apps you need easily.

It also sports an 11.5-inch 2K touchscreen display that goes up to 400 nits and has 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It also has a 5MP front-facing camera that supports IR for Windows Hello and an 8MP rear autofocus camera. You also get two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports and an audio jack for your physical connections.

What makes this device perfect for students, though, is that it only weighs 697g for the tablet. And if you add the 450g keyboard folio case, the overall device weighs less than 1.2kg.

Although the IdeaPad doesn't have that much power compared to other devices, its portability and price point make it the perfect device for those who need a basic productivity computer that does not break the bank.
