I am using Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1420. I have all the latest drivers installed. However, for some strange reason, I cannot change the brightness of my LCD while it's on battery power. I could do so perfectly till a few days back. Any ideas?

I was able to solve the problem by removing and reinstalling the Dell QuickSet. Apparently, Dell QuickSet makes some weird changes to the power settings.

Ummm....I'm assuming you have something accidentally set in your energy savor settings that dims the LCD to save power. Try checking that out.:D
