How to Find Your LinkedIn Profile URL

Finding your LinkedIn profile URL is easy via desktop, mobile browser, or the LinkedIn app.

On Desktop and Mobile Web Browser

  1. Sign in to your LinkedIn account and click any of your profile pictures on the left of your screen. Alternatively, click on your profile picture labeled Me at the top of the page, then on View Profile.

  2. Your LinkedIn profile URL will now be visible in your browser's address bar.

  3. To copy it, simply right-click the address bar and click Copy.
  4. On the mobile web browser, your profile URL will include an additional "/mwlite/" element.

To view another member's profile URL, enter their name into the Search box and click on the appropriate result.

On the LinkedIn Mobile App

  1. Open the LinkedIn app and tap on your profile picture.
  2. Tap View Profile then scroll all the way down to the "Contact" section.
  3. You can find your LinkedIn profile URL under the "Your Profile" section.
  4. Tap and hold to copy, open, or share it.

How to Change and Customize Your LinkedIn Profile URL

You can easily customize your LinkedIn profile URL as follows.

On Desktop and Mobile Web Browser

  1. Sign in to your LinkedIn account and click on your profile picture.
  2. Click on Edit public profile & URL.

  3. Click on the pen icon under the "Edit your custom URL" section on the top right of the page.
  4. You can only edit the part of the URL in the box beginning with the blinking cursor.

  5. Your preferred URL must be 3-100 letters or numbers without spaces, symbols, or special characters. The editable part is case insensitive, so capitalize it however you want to.
  6. Press Save when done.

Note that you can only change your LinkedIn profile URL five times in six months. If someone else has already taken the custom URL you want, you can choose another one.

On the LinkedIn Mobile App

  1. Open the LinkedIn app, tap on your profile picture, then tap View Profile.
  2. Scroll down and tap the pen icon in the "Contact" section.
  3. Tap on the profile URL.
  4. Tap on the pen icon under "Edit your custom URL."
  5. Enter your preferred URL and tap Save when done.

What Happens After You Change Your LinkedIn Profile URL

When you change your LinkedIn profile URL, the original URL will remain unavailable to other members for six months.

If you need to, you should be able to revert to your old URL as soon as you've changed it. If not, contact LinkedIn support.

You should update all your past job submissions with your new profile URL to avoid a "Profile Not Found" error when members try to find you.
