I upgraded to Windows 7 and it's fine. The problem is that the monitor goes black whenever it wants and it comes back on after a second. Does anybody know why?

Rick,to answer your question we need more information, so let me ask a few questions. What brand and model is your LCD monitor? How is it connected to your computer / graphics card?Does your monitor go black anytime, for example also when the computer is idle or does it happen especially when you play games, edit graphics, or watch videos?Maybe this is not a hardware but a software issue. Did you try to upgrade the graphics card drivers?
