My laptop is an HP DV6-6121 TX (with 4GB RAM, 2GB ATI Radeon 6770M graphics card, and Intel Core i7 processor). I have installed GTA 4 and COD 7, but both these games seem to lag. I have set them on performance mode. Also COD 7 doesn't have sound during gameplay and the game does not automatically get saved after the first small following mission after the cutscene. Could updating graphics drivers/BIOS help?

try 3d analyzerhttp://games.softpedia.com/get/Tools/3D-Analyze.shtml3D-Analyze is a tool for transform and lightning hardware emulation. So it is very useful for running TnL games on video cards that have not on board dedicated circuits for TnL calculations (like all Voodoo, Kyro, some Radeon and older). It uses power of central processing unit to do emulation.http://tomorrowsgaming.com/hardware-software/2719.htmhttp://www.computingunleashed.com/how-to-runplay-latest-games-without.htmltry iobit game boosterhttp://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.htmlalso you can try to lower screen resolution to play the gamehttp://www.techishare.com/softwares/save-restore-screen-resolution-single-multiple-users/Appboosterhttp://www.appsmaker.com/you can create a profile disabling unnecessary process

By the way, theres no need to check the minimum requirements, *obviously* your PC is good to run them. It may be that Jefferys solution of upgrading the latesst drivers will do the trick, but if not then I think you're just out of luck on that machine.

Even an HP laptop should be able run those games with those kind of specs. Unfortunately, I've always found HPs to be such terrible performance regardless of the stats. It pays to shop around when you're buying a laptop - Alienware or Dell would be my only possible considerations (if I were to ever buy a PC again, that is).

hello , test you system with this test " Can You Run It " on website System Requirements Lab ( http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ ) .select the game title for which you want to know the information and click on " can you run it ?."the website would run a simple online test to check whether your system meets the minimum specifications for the game to run and so , is good to go .or if the system does not meet the minimum requirements , then what exactly is failing will also be suggested by the test .so if your system passes this test , you can rest assure that the hardware in the PC is all good to go , and you need to trouble shoot some other thing .( might be some conflicting apps , like AVs , Firewall, other resident scanners . etc etc ...)you can also try running IOBit Game Booster .it would shut down the unnecessary processes and services and preserve the system power for the more heavy app that is running on a PC .!try and see ..

Well I tried the same for COD 7 but it seems to be of no use.Is there anything else I can do? I mean changing the settings in the Beats Audio Control Panel.Because in the game's Audio options,it doesn't show up a Sound device(The field is grayed out).

Updating your video card's driver may work. Lag is a ambiguous term in gaming, do you mean it's lag as in frames per second (fps) or lag as in server response time? The difference is, if it's a low FPS than it's most likely a local issue (hardware/driver/software/etc), however if it's a long ping response time (rubber band lag) it's probably your connection. I don't think the sound and lag issues are related. Most games offer a console command to allow you to view both your FPS and ping in a match. FPS lower than 30 is not going to look pretty and a ping shouldn't be higher than 130/ms.

It is FPS in the above case. Can you provide the link for the recent video driver for the 6770M?[I tried downloading a preview (11.10 v3).]

.A common problem is that people are running other resource intensive applications in the background, which will dramatically lower your FPS.
