My PC is running XP from one of the partitions of its raid array and I want to install Ubuntu 9.10 x64 to an unallocated partition. However, the installer CD shows the raid array with no partitions and choosing manual mode doesn't provide any option to select a partition either.
What's the solution?

If you are using Software RAID, Windows is using software to perform the raid and Ubuntu will not be able to use that. To use RAID you will need to use a hardware based array, which presents a single disk to the system even though it is actually a RAID of disks. That way, multiple OSes can use the array.
