My computer crashed and was repaired, but erased all the songs on my iTunes. I still have all the songs on my iPhone 5, but do not know how to transfer these songs back to iTunes. I'm trying to do it by allowing hidden files but the control folder is still not showing up.

Simply transfer purchases on iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848#For non-purchased music, try iTransfer tool: http://www.leawo.com/knowledge/2-methods-to-transfer-music-from-iphone-5-to-computer.htmlHow to Transfer Music from iPod to MP3 Player: http://www.leawo.com/knowledge/how-to-transfer-music-from-ipod-to-mp3-player.html

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases.Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

Yeah, you can. On non-iOS devices, it's as easy as enabling hidden files, and copying the directory(ies) that contain your music, then opening iTunes and importing the songs from there.iDevices, however, mount as a Camera. Which proves to be a problem. If the device is jailbroken, you can install a program like "iFunBox" from http://www.i-funbox.com/ and connect through that to your iDevice and find your files through there.Otherwise, try using this: http://www.iphoneringtone.org/iphone-transfer/It has a free demo version.

Maybe CopyTrans ( http://www.copytrans.net/downloadtrial.php ) will help you. Unfortunately there are some limitations in the trial version: limited number of songs per sessions - 100 songs per session, 250 songs in total.

If you obtained these songs from the itunes store. then yes it should sync. If not you need to find a 3rd party utility to transfer to the PC. Transfer normally goes only one way. I would suggest Dropbox to transfer to your PC.
