Now that Microsoft has finally eschewed the Internet Explorer 11, it’s time you move on to a modern, better supported browser.

Although Microsoft has propped Microsoft Edge as its replacement, you don’t need to resign yourself only to Microsoft products. You have a lot to choose from after all. How to Export Your Data From Internet Explorer 11

Exporting your Internet Explorer 11 data is a simple affair. And now that Microsoft has officially retired IE11, now is the best time to get all your data out of there as well.

To get started, open Internet Explorer and then click on the Favourites star. Then head to the drop-down menu, and click on Import or Export. From the Import/Export Settings dialog box, click on Export to a file and select the Next button.

You'll now get three checkboxes: Favorites, Feeds and Cookies. Select the sections that you’d like to export and then click on Next. From there, click on the folders that you want to export and then click on Next.

Select a destination you'd like to save your file to, and click on Next.

As soon as you do this, Internet Explorer will create a new file called bookmark.htm on your Windows. In our case, for example, it will be located in the right corner in documents folder. You can now move this file anywhere you’d like.

Exporting Your Internet Explorer 11 Data Straight to a Browser

What we discussed above was just one of the ways to move your IE data. There are, of course, other ways of doing this. For instance, you can easily transfer your Internet Explorer 11 data straight to your new browser as well.

We’ll show you how you can do this with Google Chrome.

Launch the Chrome browser and head to the Settings tab. From there, click on the Import Bookmarks and Settings tab under the Settings page.

From the drop-down menu, select Internet Explorer, and check all the radio boxes for the things that you want to import. It’ll include things like Browsing history, Favourites, Saved passwords, Search engines, and so on. Finally, click on Import.

Do this and all your important Internet Explorer data will be imported to your Chrome browser instantly. The process is similar for other browsers like Firefox, Edge, etc.
