Is it possible to install Windows programs in Ubuntu using Wine? It's not a big deal if not possible, but have a few ones that I'd really like to keep using.

In general it is possible - that's what WINE is meant for, after all.If and how well it will work depends on the Application. Your best chance is to look into the WineHQ App Database. There you can find informations about compatibility and installation tipps. http://appdb.winehq.org/It's also a good idea to check the prerequisites for the Software you are trying to use. For example a lot of Apps require .NET Framework, C++ Redistributable or Internet Explorer installed. You should select them during configuration of the WINE machine whenever possible to prevent problems with the Installers bundled with the Software.

Yes, that is the reason Wine exists. The purpose of the software is to be able to run windows programs on other operating systems. As of this moment, not every program works but the ones that do, run decently. This link will take you to the Wine Application Database. This is a database of applications/games that run on Wine. http://appdb.winehq.org/http://www.wine-reviews.net/
