I have a little problem. When I try to install Ubuntu or any other other Linux distro on a Windows Virtual PC, the virtual machine shuts down while booting. It comes just past the BIOS, and the windows closes.

Anyone who know why this happens and how to solve it

Thank you, Virtualbox worked much better than Windows Virtual PC, so I will start using it instead, thanks again. :-)

RedHat and SuSe Linux guests are supported...Some Linux distributions must be installed in text mode, as they do not support Microsoft Virtual PC's emulated graphics chip. Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) must be installed in SafeMode, but does not require other changes.
That's what Wikipedia says for Linux in Virtual PC.Personally I suggest some other Virtualization Software e.g.VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/Qemu http://www.qemu.org/
