My WiFi doesn't cover as much area as touted. How can I improve it, so an Acer Iconia can get online 60 feet away from the source?

Some routers come with a default range set pretty low, check out your router's administration panel to make sure you have the max range set. If you do, you need to buy a WiFi repeater

Hello, your wifi coverage area depends on what kind of router you have.  If you have an N class router with rangebooster you could theoretically get reception up to 300 meters away.  That is depending on interference and line of sight.  Wireless degrades as it goes through walls.  Also, household appliances like microwaves oven, cordless phones, the antennas your router has, etc, can interfere/reduce with the signal and therefore, shortening the distance it can reach.  Your tablet should be able to reach more than 60 feet when using wireless, unless like I said before there is interference.  You can extend the signal by using extenders, and also you can use a separate router as access points to extend the signal.  The location of the router is very important.  Also, sometimes using/changing the channels can help.  The following links will explain more and hopefully answer any questions you might have.http://techpp.com/2010/01/05/guide-to-improve-and-extend-your-wi-fi-coverage/http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=1341008http://www.techradar.com/news/networking/wi-fi/10-quick-and-easy-ways-to-boost-your-wi-fi-672006
