Social media has become such a powerful thing over the past decade, and that's purely because of how many people are on it. If you're running a business, you'd be crazy not to use social media to help promote it.

That said, the fact that many businesses coming to this realization—in a weird way—gives the consumers power.

These days, it isn't uncommon for a business to make a decision, have that decision see public debate, and subsequently overturn it. Humble Bundle is the latest company to follow this series of events.

Humble Hits 'Undo' on Its Last Storefront Adjustment

Humble Bundle has posted to its blog, writing that its website has restored the price sliders that allow you to determine where your money goes. In late April, these sliders were replaced with a set list of options, capping charity contributions at 15 percent.

"We’ve heard everyone loud and clear and apologize for the way these changes were rolled out," the Humble Bundle team writes. The sliders have been turned back on for all customers while the company reviews feedback and contemplates what to do from here.

[We will] consider sliders and the importance of customization for purchases on bundle pages in the long term. In the coming weeks, we’ll roll out the updated design which will include sliders that work exactly as they did previously. Once the new design is live, we will continue to iterate on it, incorporating feedback from the community into its ongoing evolution.

You Can Split Your Money How You Want... for Now

The Humble Bundle team also writes that its website will also soon "include exploring different approaches to the sliders and how splits work," so perhaps we shouldn't expect the charity cap to be gone for long.

Nowhere does Humble state that it won't put something else in place in the future to ensure that the company gets a particular cut. It's very possible that this move was made just to calm the storm before Humble tries something a little sneakier.
