HP has been rolling out a slew of new gear at CES 2021.

Joining the new Envy 14, Dragonfly G2, and Dragonfly Max laptops are the HP Elite Wireless Earbuds. They are the company's first foray into wireless earbuds, and HP claims they are the world's "most advanced." Let's see what all the fuss is about.

Are They the World's "Most Advanced" Earbuds?

Such claims are rarely clear-cut; until we've had a chance to test the new earbuds hands-on, we won't be able to say for sure.

The new Elite Wireless Earbuds do, however, offer some noteworthy features.

Specifically aimed at the work-from-home crowd and households that have kids in online learning, HP says collaboration is at the heart of the design.

With the rapid increase in video calls and audio conferencing, wireless earbuds are now a workplace essential. Experience superb sonics by blocking out unwanted external sounds with state-of-the-art noise canceling, personalized audio tuning and customizable sound situations. Enjoy hours of comfort with premium foam and silicon tips with a sleek USB-C charging case.

That means you get to create your own presets for various environments (which can be flicked between by tapping the bud or using the smartphone app), as well as the ability to switch between multiple devices easily. Again, the HP app takes care of it.

The other big feature is custom ear calibration. Using a few short tests, the Elite Earbuds can test your hearing and customize their output to meet your exact listening profile.

Under the hood, you get USB-C fast charging, and 9.2mm driver, and passive and active noise cancellation. Each bud weighs 8g.

When Can You Buy the HP Elite Earbuds?

We don't know yet, nor do we know which markets will be the first to get them.

However, HP has confirmed the price; they will cost $199 upon launch.

What Else Is New From HP at CES 2021?

In addition to the laptops and the new earbuds, we've also seen HP release a new M-Series monitor and HP 635 wireless mouse.

The M-Series has IPS technology, a 178-degree ultra-wide viewing angle, a 99 percent sRGB color gamut, and is Eyesafe-certified. It is also made with 85 percent recycled material from the ocean—a nod to the environment that HP was keen to stress.

The new mouse has four programmable quiet-click buttons and can pair with up to three devices using a dongle or two devices using a Bluetooth connection.
