Several factors make streaming TV shows and movies enjoyable. Apart from the plot, sound and picture quality are some key factors that contribute to a great experience.

Netflix recognizes this; that's why it supports spatial audio, which delivers high-quality sound. This allows you to enjoy the theater experience at home for those days when you don't feel like going out and spending money on movie tickets.

Netflix's spatial audio is an immersive audio experience that takes your streaming up a notch. It gives you a cinematic experience right at home—think surround sound without spending extra for home theater essentials.

The Netflix movies and shows with spatial audio support create a 3D surround experience, so you feel more immersed and like you're part of the action.

Spatial audio has become increasingly popular among streaming services over the years. For instance, you can use spatial audio on Apple Music, even though that works slightly differently.

How to Find Netflix Shows With Spatial Audio

Whether you're on your computer or your smartphone, you can find Netflix shows with spatial audio within seconds.

Find Netflix Shows With Spatial Audio on Desktop

All you have to do is go to Netflix.com and sign in to your account. Then, go to the Search bar in the top-right corner of the screen, type the words "spatial audio," and press Enter. Browse all the titles with spatial audio and choose the one you want to watch.

Find Netflix Shows With Spatial Audio on Mobile

If you don't feel like using your computer, you can enjoy Netflix's spatial audio-supported titles on your phone.

  1. Open the Netflix app.
  2. If you need to, sign in to your account.
  3. Tap the Search icon at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Type "spatial audio" in the search bar at the top of the screen.

Netflix will show you all the content you can enjoy with spatial audio. Less than 30 movies and shows support spatial audio at the time of writing.

How Netflix's Spatial Audio Works

Netflix's spatial audio works similar to its Dolby Atmos audio format, which gives you a 3D audio experience. But don't confuse the two—spatial audio is different from 3D positional audio. For instance, unlike Dolby Atmos, you don't have to use compatible speakers to enjoy Netflix content in spatial audio.

Netflix does this by changing regular surround sound into spatial audio. By using binaural recordings, shows and movies manage to simulate spatial audio on any device. That doesn't mean you'll necessarily have the same sound quality as someone using speakers, but it'll still sound more immersive.

You can use spatial audio with no extra equipment or without paying extra or upgrading your plan. All you need is a great internet connection (as usual), find shows that support spatial audio, and you're good to go.

Netflix Is Improving Your Streaming Experience

Not only does Netflix's spatial audio feature allow you to enjoy immersive sounds, but you can use it at no extra cost. Since Netflix is known to increase the prices of its subscription plans, this is good value for your money.
