The Apple Watch is one of the best-selling smartwatches ever, with over 30 million users worldwide. Despite having many excellent features, some people find the constant notifications to be quite distracting. Fortunately, you can turn off certain notifications and features to your liking.

One of the main functions you may want to turn off is receiving calls on the Apple Watch. Unfortunately, there’s no way to completely disable this, but there are some workarounds to reduce phone call notifications on your Apple Watch, which we’ll show you below.

Why Would You Need to Disable Calls on Your Apple Watch?

An Apple Watch can do loads of things—it can track all your daily workouts, allow you to send or receive text messages, pay for something using Apple Pay, and more. Some people call it a portable smartphone on your wrist, and rightly so. However, with it being on your wrist, it can be a distraction at times, especially with phone calls and messages popping up.

You can use Focus modes to reduce the number of call and text notifications on your phone and, ultimately, on your watch as well. But, eventually, you may want to try to completely disable all phone notifications.

Can You Disable Receiving Calls on Your Apple Watch?

Despite what other websites may say, there is no way to completely disable incoming phone calls on your Apple Watch. However, there are some workarounds, which involve turning off audio and haptic alerts to help reduce any distractions from incoming calls.

How to Reduce Phone Call Notifications on Your Apple Watch

The Apple Watch offers you the option to turn off audio alerts and sound or haptic feedback for any phone calls. However, you will always get a visual alert on your watch’s screen, which you won’t be able to get rid of.

To disable the audio and haptic notifications on your Apple Watch:

  1. Open up the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. In the My Watch tab, select Phone.
  3. Choose Custom, and tap on Notifications Off.
  4. Under Alerts, turn off both Sounds and Haptic.
  5. Under Ringtone, turn off Sounds and Haptic as well.

That’s it! This workaround should help reduce the distractions caused by the haptic alerts and ringtone sounds while receiving phone calls on the Apple Watch.

Did you know that you can also send messages from the Apple Watch using the Scribble feature? However, you may find message notifications to be a bit distracting as well. You can choose to disable them as well on your Apple Watch from My Watch > Messages > Custom. Select Notifications Off, which should do the trick.

Unfortunately, there’s no option to completely disable incoming phone calls on your Apple Watch. However, the quick workaround described above may minimize notifications enough to fulfill your requirements, allowing you to stay focused on your tasks and reduce potential distractions.
