Twitter has made it easy to remove a follower if they are annoying you or you do not want them to continue following you for any reason.

Previously, to remove one of your followers, you had to use a workaround that involved blocking and unblocking them.

However, with the introduction of this new option, removing a follower takes just a few clicks. Here's how to do just that...

How to Remove a Twitter Follower

At launch, the feature is only available on the web version of Twitter (on mobile and computer). This means you cannot access it using the Twitter app.

Simply use these steps to remove your Twitter follower without blocking:

  1. Open any browser like Chrome, Safari, Edge, and log in to your Twitter account.
  2. Go to the profile of the person you wish to remove. You can use the search option and type their name or username.
  3. Tap the three dots icon near their display name.
  4. Then select Remove this follower > Remove.

Alternatively, you can also go to your Twitter profile and tap Followers.

Next, tap three dots next to a follower's name and choose Remove this follower > Remove.

This will remove the person from your follower list without them knowing.

Twitter Block vs. Removing Followers

Now you know how to remove people, businesses, spam, and unknown Twitter accounts that follow you.

Previously, after you blocked them, they could visit your profile and immediately know that you blocked them. Now, it simply removes the person as your follower and does not notify them.

The only downside is that even after you remove someone as a follower, they can still see your public tweets and may end up following you again.
