How to Install the Grammarly Keyboard on Your iPhone

Grammarly Keyboard is a simple spelling and grammar checking app that allows you to proofread and edit everything from emails to text messages. It also includes other features such as the synonym finder, tone detection, multi-word predictions, and more.

Grammarly Keyboard’s basic spelling and grammar check tools are free to use. However, for other tools such as the synonym finder and tone detection, you’ll need a Premium account.

Grammarly Keyboard works in all of your apps as it is a simple keyboard extension for your iPhone. To get started with Grammarly Keyboard, you’ll want to first download the Grammarly app. Then, follow these steps to set up the keyboard on your iPhone:

  1. Open the Grammarly app and select Next > Get Started.
  2. If you already have a Grammarly account, you can select Log in to existing account. If you don’t, select how you’d like to sign up from the options.
  3. Once you’re redirected back to the app, you can choose if you’d like to sign up for Grammarly Premium. If not, just close the window.
  4. Next, select Add Grammarly Keyboard.
  5. The app will send you to your iPhone Settings. Select Keyboards and then toggle the switch next to Grammarly.
  6. Go back to the Grammarly app.
  7. You’ll then need to enable full access. Select Allow Full Access > Keyboards and then toggle the switch next to Allow Full Access. Then, select Allow.
  8. Return to the app.
  9. Grammarly will then prompt you to finish the setup where you’ll need to switch keyboards. On your keyboard, tap the globe or emoji icon in the bottom corner, then select the Grammarly keyboard.

You should now have the Grammarly Keyboard set up as your main iPhone keyboard any time you start to reply to or write a text or start to type an email.

How to Use the Grammarly Keyboard

Using the Grammarly Keyboard is simple. Open an email, document, or text. As you type, you’ll notice the Grammarly icon above your letter keys.

If you make any spelling or grammar mistakes, the icon will show a red number to indicate the mistakes. You’ll also see suggestions next to the icon. To select a suggestion, simply tap it. Or, if you want to ignore a suggestion, swipe. You can also tap the Grammarly icon to see more information about the error. To go back to your keyboard, select the ABC in the bottom corner.
