If you’re a student, Spotify will ask you for some information to verify that you are qualified for the promo. You’ll be asked for your name, college or university you are enrolled in, date of birth, email address, payment details, and documents that can confirm your student status.
You have two options for getting verified: you can either log in to your school’s student portal or submit a document as proof of your student status. Spotify uses the third-party services of SheerID, Inc. to process your documents and information to confirm if you're eligible for the discount.
You’ll be asked to present school-issued documents issued to you in the last three months. Your chosen document should clearly show that you are currently enrolled in a university or college. SheerID will look for the following information on your document/s:
- Your first and last name
- Your school’s name
- Issue date that should fall within the current academic term or at least within the last three months
You can upload your official enrollment letter, your current academic terms’ class schedule, tuition fee or registration receipt, or other documents that have the details mentioned above. Acceptance letters are not valid.
After you’re verified, you’ll be able to receive the discounted monthly subscription to Spotify Premium for up to 12 consecutive months. Aside from the first activation, you can make use of the discounted monthly subscription offer three more times.

What Happens When You're No Longer a Student?
