Apple TV+ is the streaming service from Apple that launched in late 2019 and continues to go from strength to strength. Although it has some licensed content, the majority of the movies and shows on the platform are original and exclusive.

If you want to watch Apple TV+ and you have a Samsung TV, the way you go about that depends on what model TV you have. Not all Samsung TVs have an Apple TV+ app, while others have a watered-down version.

No matter what model of Samsung TV you have, we're going to show you how to watch Apple TV+ on it.

Which Samsung TVs Support the Apple TV+ App?

As per the Apple TV+ device page, you can download the Apple TV+ app on the following Samsung smart TVs:

  • Samsung QLED 8K Q9, Q8 Series (2019, 2020)
  • Samsung QLED 4K Q9, Q8, Q7, Qx Series (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
  • Samsung UHD 8, 7, 6 Series (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
  • Samsung FHD/HD 5,4 Series (2017, 2018, 2020)
  • Samsung Serif Series (2019, 2020)
  • Samsung The Frame Series (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
  • Samsung The Sero Series (2019, 2020)

However, there's something important to note. If you have a 2017 model of these supported TVs, you can't get the full Apple TV+ experience. While the app looks the same in name and appearance, you can only watch Apple TV+ movies and shows. You can't rent, buy, or watch content from the iTunes store or other third-party channels, like you usually can if you experience Apple TV+ elsewhere.

Nevertheless, this is better than nothing. Although Apple TV+ launched in November 2019, it took Apple almost two years to release the app for older Samsung TVs. Hopefully, Apple will continue to improve the Apple TV+ experience on older Samsung TVs, and support more models.

How to Watch Apple TV+ on Apple-Supported Samsung TVs

If your Samsung TV is a 2019 model or newer, it's likely that the Apple TV+ is included by default. As such, all you need to do is select the Apple TV+ icon from the home menu.

On a 2017 or 2018 Samsung smart TV, you'll need to download the app from the Samsung app store. From the home menu, navigate to Apps, search for Apple TV, and Download the app. Once it's installed, you can place it on the home menu for easy access.

When you launch the app, follow the on-screen prompts. You can either sign in with an existing Apple ID through your phone, or create an account. If you don't yet have an account, you might be able to get Apple TV+ for free.

How to Watch Apple TV+ on Other Samsung TVs

If your Samsung TV isn't on Apple's list of supported smart TVs, don't fear. You can still get the Apple TV+ app through another device.

For example, if you have a PlayStation 4 or 5, or an Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X, you can download the Apple TV+ app on that.

Alternatively, you could get a Chromecast with Google TV, a Roku, or a Fire TV stick. All of these streaming devices support the Apple TV+ app.
