Have you ever lost your phone and wished you could ask someone where it is? Fortunately, there is a way to do just that if you own a Google Home Hub.

Let's explore how you can use Google Assistant to find your phone.

How to Find Your Phone With Google Assistant

First of all, the phone you're looking for needs to be registered with your Google account. If you've signed into your phone using your account (which you usually do during setup), it should already be tied to your Google account.

You also have to ensure that Google's Find My Device feature is enabled. It's turned on by default, so if you don't remember disabling it, it should still be enabled. If you don't know if it's on, be sure to double-check; we covered it as one of the ways to find your Android phone.

Then, all you need to do is say "Okay, Google" to your Google Home device to wake it up. Then say, "Find my phone."

When you do this, your Google Assistant will make your phone ring at full volume, even if you set it to mute. All you need to do now is track down where the ringing is coming from.

Help, I Can't Hear It Ringing

If you've performed the above steps, and your Google Assistant says it's making your phone ring, but you still can't hear it ring, it's probably further away than you may have first thought.

If this is the case, don't fret just yet. There are tools you can use to locate a lost phone, even if you haven't installed any special tracking apps. Be sure to check out how to track and find your phone's location for more details.

Finding Your Phone With Your Google Assistant

If your phone is always finding its way down sofa cushions or under tables, your Google Home Hub can help you find it. Just use the voice command "Okay Google, find my phone" and your phone will start ringing.

This neat feature isn't advertised very much. In fact, it's one of the things you probably didn't even know your Google Assistant can do.
