Many of us get trigger-happy the first day a game releases. We pre-order and download as soon as they are available on the Nintendo eShop. However, there are also times we open a game once and then never again.

Whether it’s because we get stuck on a hard level or simply lose interest, many of us keep games on our consoles hoping that one day we’ll finally find the time or motivation to finish it.

Here’s how to check when you last fired up a Nintendo Switch title.

Steps to Check When You Last Played a Switch Game

Switch Data Management

To know for yourself when the last time you last entered a game’s world, you have to access the Data Management settings. Go to System Settings > Data Management > Manage Software.

Switch Manage Software

Then, you’ll find yourself on the screen wherein you can see your available games, system memory, and microSD card memory space. From here, you can view the last time you played a game and the amount of memory it currently consumes. You'll see this underneath the game name.

When choosing a game to delete, you can rank titles in order of most recently played. Then, find the ones that take up the most space and delete from there. You can also give it one last go and see if it's still worth playing.

Keep Games Worth Playing Again

When it comes to managing your Switch, it's a good idea to let go of games that no longer spark joy to make space for the ones that do. Each month, dozens of amazing games grace the gaming market. It makes sense to be ready for the day that the right ones catch your eye.

On the other hand, revisiting old titles may actually inspire you to do another run. There are several games with multiple endings that might be worth playing until you've seen them.

Additionally, while we don't necessarily connect with games the first time we play them, it doesn't mean that they're not worth playing. Sometimes, the lessons they need to teach us only make sense a couple of years later.
