Changing your passwords regularly is a healthy practice, and that's especially true of Netflix. Your Netflix account holds sensitive information such as your phone number and payment details.

How to Change Your Netflix Password on PC

Changing your Netflix password on your computer browser is easy. Here's how:

  1. Open your browser and log in to Netflix.
  2. In the upper right of your screen, hover over your profile icon. On the drop-down menu, click Account. This takes you to your account details page.
  3. In the Membership and Billing section of the page, click Change password.
  4. On the Change Password page, fill out the required fields. We recommend that you check the box Require all devices to sign in again with the new password, which logs out possible unwanted third-parties that are using your account without your knowledge.
  5. When done, click Save.

You will be notified on the next page if your password change is successful.

How to Change Your Netflix Password on Mobile

To change your Netflix password using the mobile app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Netflix app on your mobile and select your profile.
  2. At the bottom right of your screen, tap More.
  3. Tap Account. This will open the Membership & Billing page in your phone's web browser.
  4. Tap Change password.
  5. Enter the details required then tap Save.

You will be notified on the next page if your password change is successful.

How to Reset Your Netflix Password

If you don't know your existing Netflix password, don't worry. You can reset your Netflix password in two different ways:

1. When You’re Not Signed in to Your Account

You can reset your Netflix password without signing in to your account (which is most likely the situation you're in). You can either do it on your PC browser or your mobile app.

  1. Go to the Netflix website.
  2. In the upper right corner of the page, click Sign In.
  3. Just below the Sign In button, on the right side, click Need help?
  4. You can either provide the email or phone number associated with your account where Netflix can send your password reset instructions.

If you don't remember your email or phone, just click I can't remember my email address or phone number and you will be taken to the Forgot Email/Password page to provide the information you know about your account. Once you have filled out the required fields, click Find Account.

2. When You’re Signed in to Your Account

If you're already signed in to your account, but you can't remember your password, you can also reset it.

  1. If you're on a computer, follow steps one to three in the How to Change Your Netflix Password on PC section above. Alternatively, on mobile, follow steps one to four in the How to Change Your Netflix Password on Mobile section above.
  2. Just below the Current Password field, select Forgot Password and you will be redirected to the Forgot Email/Password page.
  3. Just below the Sign In button, on the right side, select Need help?
  4. You can either provide the email or phone number associated with your account where Netflix can send your password reset instructions.
