Server Boosting is a way to upgrade your Discord server. Boosted servers provide members with added perks and benefits, like improved stream qualities and extra emojis. But how do you boost your Discord server? And what are all the perks for boosting?

What It Means to Boost a Discord Server

In Discord, "boosting" your server is synonymous with upgrading your server. Discord calls it boosting because server upgrades are obtained through the purchase of monthly subscriptions called "Server Boosts".

One Discord server can have multiple Server Boosts at a time. How many Server Boosts a server has determines what level the server is. The more Server Boosts a server acquires, the higher its level becomes.

How to Boost a Discord Server

So, you've decided to boost one of your Discord servers? If so, here is how to do it.

Before boosting, you should be sure of which server you want to boost. Although you can always switch your Server Boost to a new server, there is a 7 day cooldown period in which your Server Boost remains locked.

Once you are confident about which server you want to boost, you are ready to begin. Follow these simple steps to boost your Discord server.

  1. Open the Discord app.
  2. Select your server from the sidebar.
  3. Click on your server name to access the Server Settings drop down menu.
  4. Click on Server Boost.
  5. Make sure everything looks OK, then click Boost This Server.
  6. Select the amount of boosts you would like to purchase.
  7. Decide if you want to a Nitro subscription (this is optional, more info on this below).
  8. Enter your payment information.
  9. Confirm your purchase.
  10. Your boost is now active.

Congratulations! You have boosted your Discord server. Your server members should thank you later. You will receive some special swag for boosting your server, including a server badge next to your name that evolves over time.

Discord Server Boosting in a Nutshell

There you have it; Discord Server Boosting is essentially just another term for server upgrading in Discord. The unique terminology comes from Discord's monthly subscriptions called Server Boosts, which are how servers get upgraded in Discord.

Whether or not you want to buy a Server Boost is entirely up to you. It is worth noting, however, that Server Boosting is a collaborative effort. If at least two server members boost your server, your server will become a Level 1 server, and everyone will be able to reap the benefits.
