We’ve all seen it happen. Somebody posts something offensive on Twitter and you're surprised by how many people start liking the tweet. Some people may even share the tweet with their friends or followers, making the post go viral.

A first reaction to seeing such tweets is to block the tweeter. But how about those who endorsed the take with their likes?

We know that blocking a person from your feed can feel like an extreme measure but if you want to keep your timeline free from this kind of content, you may want to block everybody who liked the tweet.

Blocking Everyone Who Liked an Offensive Tweet

You are able to report offensive posts and accounts on Twitter. But this doesn't mean that you're free from interacting with the people who endorsed its content. Thankfully, there is a third-party tool that you can use to block everyone who liked the tweet.

Megablock is a tool that allows you to mute a tweet, as well as block its author and everyone who liked it in one hit. Its creation was inspired by a tweet from a Twitter user, Mike Solana. He tweeted:

How to Block Everyone Who Liked a Bad Tweet With Megablock

Megablock saves you the trouble of going into each account and blocking them separately.

Here's how to use the tool:

  1. Visit Megablock.xyz.
  2. Tap Get Started.
  3. Login with your Twitter details and tap Next Step.
  4. Paste the URL of the tweet you want to block in the text box and click on MegaBlock!
  5. Confirm you want to block the tweet by typing the displayed text in the text box.

Megablock takes it from there. It takes just a few seconds for the tool to block the tweet and everyone who liked it.

Be Sure You Want to Do This

Blocking everyone who liked an offensive tweet, no doubt, can help keep your feed free from bad tweets. But is it really worth it?

You probably already know that not all users who like a tweet endorse the opinion expressed in it. Blocking everyone who liked a tweet also means you’ll be blocking users who may only have liked the tweet for reference purposes. Which is not always what you want.

All in all, you now have a tool you can use to nuke those really offensive tweets and their authors. The tweet likers will be blocked too, but sometimes keeping your feed free from abusive content is worth the collateral damage.
