Samsung's latest iterations of folding smartphones are available for purchase. The folding devices are available in two form factors, a clamshell, and a book-like design. Those two futuristic designs will set you back at least $999.

That begs for the question, how much does it cost to repair the screen if anything bad happens? Well, here's how much it will cost you to replace the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 3's screen.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 Screen Replacement Cost

One of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is durability. But anything can happen. Despite the South Korean technology giant's promise of improvement in durability, the Fold and Flip 3's screens aren't totally resistant to breaking.

Straight off the bat, the foldable devices' screen makes it challenging for a DIY enthusiast to do their own replacement. However, Samsung can replace the screen for you, but it's not for cheap. And, it also depends on what screen you're fixing. The duo has two displays—one main folding display on the interior and a relatively smaller exterior panel.

According to Samsung, replacing the inner folding display of the Fold 3 screen costs $479. For the Flip 3, Samsung will charge you $369. However, it's cheaper to replace the exterior display. It costs $149 and $99, respectively.

That is the steep price you'll have to pay for such futuristic technology.

Though still expensive, these charges have gotten cheaper. Last year's Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Flip 5G inner screen replacement cost was fixed at $549 and $499. It was even more expensive to replace the folding panel of the first-generation problematic Galaxy Fold at $599.

But don't be scared by the steep screen replacement costs—this is only applicable for out-of-warranty repairs. Thankfully, Samsung offers a free one-year warranty on both devices. If something happens to the display under the warranty terms, Samsung will replace the display for free.

And when the one-year warranty expires, you can subscribe to Samsung's $12.99 a month Care Plus service. The service allows you to extend your warranty for two more years. Additionally, you can replace your broken screen for $249 out-of-warranty up to three times a year with Care Plus.
