I recently bought a Lenovo z585 Notebook with Windows 8 Core Single Language 64-bit preinstalled. The only problem is that I didn't get any DVD as it is an OEM copy of Windows. I need to create a Windows 8 .ISO so that I can reinstall if a problem occurs. Can you please help?
Editor's Note: Don't forget about recovery partitions!

It's a pretty good idea to have in your backup drive the ISOS for Windows, and then reinstall with a simple USB drive, with this application, who is official from Microsoft. (It says windows 7, but works perfect with 8) and best of all, you won't need DVD's any more. (Most laptops manufacturers are building without dvd)http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Depending on which version of windows 8 you have you will find in the controlpanel a program called "Windows 7 File Recovery" this allows you to createrecovery dvd and an image you can put onto an external drive you can use this method to make a clean recovery image and then installthe programs you are using and make a recovery of your own working computer

Hello, like you have been told, your laptop already contains the recovery option in case you need to recover your system. This option protects you in a way if something goes wrong, unless your hard drive dies. First thing you should do when you get a new system/laptop is to create a recovery disc and also create the disk with the utility provided. I am pretty sure that Lenovo provides an utitility to create recovery discs. There is also the option of using cloning software such as the following: http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php

well! there's always a thing called 'USB booting'.USB booting software: http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.htmlfor Windows 8 boot disk: I don't recommend torrents, but it has to be used sometimes. Check out torrents for the respective version. I recommend www.kat.ph.When it comes to ur data backup, Always save a copy in an external HDD or pendrive. This process only utilizes the use of USB media. This process does not support the use of DVD recovery media. A minimum 16GB USB flash drive is required to make a complete backup.this also a solution, USB 3.0 Key is recommended

Download the ISO image from http://www.msdndownload.org/operating-systems/windows-8/page/2 for your version and make a ISO disk image with CDBurnerXP from http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home, which is a free software install.

Use this software: http://www.recimg.com/. Its free and uses the built in Windows Refresh/Reset features to create an image of the machine. I installed all of my software and then used the recimg software above to create and image when I was done. Now, if something goes wrong, I can refresh but all of my programs are still there. I would also consider contacting Microsoft to see if they would provide you the backup DVD. That way you perform a clean install of the OS and your programs, then use the above software to create an image. Good Luck!

When a computer comes with an OEM version of the OS installed, they almost always have another utility installed on them that allows you to create installation discs. In some countries this is required. The OOBE (out-of-box experience) on the initial boot of the machine will frequently automatically launch this utility so you can create these recovery discs. Every Toshiba, HP, and Dell I have set up for people in the last couple of years have all had them. In most cases, it will only allow you to burn one set of discs, so make sure you don't lose them otherwise you will need to order them from the computer manufacturer.

A tutorial for making it. Did the disk not come with the computer? Or is it an upgrade? If so, you should be able to download it from Microsoft, still.http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/18309-windows-8-upgrade-iso-download-create.html
