I am getting a "critical process died" error in Windows 8 during startup. I have already tried automatic repair but it is of no use. Please tell me how to fix it?

Try to reinstall Windows 8 as a fresh installation.If your system has recovery partition,then you can recover from it else in order to backup your system data,which is IMPORTANT,then you can use Linux Live CD to browse the contents of your system and create backup.Redo backup is also a good backup tool.
