My iPhone contact list has some old names and numbers that I wish to delete (only a few, not all).
I have tried, but only managed to delete phone numbers but not names.
Help anyone?

If you are using a Windows computer, you can edit your iphone contacts directly on the computer via using this method:http://www.copytrans.net/support/edit-iphone-contacts-pc/

Click edit and scroll down to the bottom ~ there you will find the "Delete Contact" button (red font)

Here's how to delete contacts (as in the whole entry: name, number and any other detail) -Launch the Phone app. At the bottom of the screen tap on Contacts.Find the person you want to delete, and tap on them.At the top right of the screen tap the "Edit" button.Scroll all the way down to the bottom and tap "Delete". Confirm you wish to delete the entry, job done!I don't think you can mass-delete people, probably to stop it happening by accident. If you use iCloud however you can login to iCloud.com and sort out your contacts there, and the changes will appear on your iPhone automatically.
