I was online when my Dell Inspiron laptop changed to a blue screen with script "critical-process-died." I tried shift+8 with no result and tried to hold down the power button, to no result. I also tried holding down F9 while re-starting with no result. I don't know how to recover my laptop, it has the Windows 8 operating system. What can I do?

If you have a windows 8 key you can download the windows 8 image from Microsoft and burn it to a DVD then use it as a repair disk. It would be much better than using a repair disk from another machine. here is the Microsoft linkhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only

If you have a recovery disk then you can recover from that disk, same goes for recovery image on your HDD else use Acronis True Image if you want to make a recovery image. Thanks :)

If you have recovery disc then use REFRESH feature Windows 8 which keeps the data intact while restoring the OS.
