I had a PC crash and lost all my music several years ago; however it's all still on my iPod. The article mentioned above explains how to transfer music from iPod to PC but with an old version of Windows.

I'm wondering if someone has instructions on how to do this procedure using Windows 7; that is, move music from iPod to PC, then from PC into iTunes. Thank you.

I used TouchCopy. It copied my music, video, photos and all other iPod content to my new computer. There's a free demo here http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/

I suggest using SharePod. It's a totally free no-frills software that will allow you to pull everything off your iPod quickly.

I use PC Suite for Iphone. It's fast, simple, and not complicated at all! :) I also use PC Suite for my android phone too! Keep in mind if you want to get the Iphone version, there are many different types of it so pay attention to the name :)

MediaMonkey can do this and is a great iTunes replacement. There was a review of it on this site. Read it here, http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/mediamonkey-4-extremely-powerful-music-management-program-rewards/

There are many programs such as SharePod that can allow easy copy-and-paste of your files to and from an iOS device and a computer. Many people here have recommended CopyTrans.

My quick research – it's been a few years since I tried this – tells me CopyTrans is what I'd look into first. Linux users have it easy: they can just click and drag from an iPod using the default music software.

Install iTunes on the PC. Connect to iCloud with your Apple ID, especially if your iPod already does the same. Connect the iPod to the PC and allow it to sync.
