I have very high band width 38mbps download and 4.2mbps upload. Every time I use Skype, the screen freezes, lags, pix elates, and drops out saying that it's due to not enough bandwidth. Please help!

I think there might some problem with antivirus software or at least try TEST CALL from Skype to see if it shows the configuration is right.

Hm...I decided that I improved some internet issues by just switching to an SSD hard drive rather than the conventional kind. Also, call your ISP for advice. Finally does Skype have paid or free customer support? It's worth looking into.

Based on your LOCAL speeds, the I really doubt the problem lies on your end. But the overall results depend on the speeds available along the entire distance from you to the other person. So, if they are on a 1.5M DSL connection attempting to do a HD video call will result in all of the issues you described.

It is possible "OutbackZack" is encountering a "Buffer Overflow" error, uploading video/audio faster than Skype can encode it. To chat with justone person, you only need 1.5Mbps for HD video.Zack, you may need "Bandwidth limiting" software to slow your Skypeconnection down to a rate the software can handle.
