I have added some supplementary user profile fields with the WP front-end plugin.

All looks fine, but I could find no way to export and maybe import back the resulting database. I have tried a few plugins that claim to do this, but they only work for standard meta fields, not for those that are custom created.

How can I work around this, without having to revert to sql export?

Contact Form 7 allows you to create custom fields and custom forms that sends you an email when someone fills it in. CF7 also has a few more extensions for options like export and dynamic text fields

Hmmm... i thought I have already answered this.I have already inserted custom field- the function does exist, though maybe it is not so well documented. Anyway, importing and exporting data is where I fail at.Thanks for jumping to help though.

Hi!Since nobody's been courageous enough to tackle this, I'm going to give it a shot.http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-user-frontend/Is this the plugin you're talking about? As far as I know, their is no support for custom user profile fields. If you're looking for a unsupported way to add custom profile fields, check this article out:http://justintadlock.com/archives/2009/09/10/adding-and-using-custom-user-profile-fields
