Hello, usually there is a label at the bottom of the laptop with your serial key on it. Keep in mind that if you formatted your whole drive, you also formatted the recovery partition and therefore you might have lost the option of recovering your factory setup, specially with a Dell. There is the possibility that when starting your computer and pay attention to start up, it might tell you what key to press in order for you to access recovery partition. Once you find what key to press, you can try pressing it at next restart and see if it recovers your system. If this works, you will not need a serial key.If the above does not work, you have the possibility of asking Dell to send you an installation disc. Of course, this option would cost you some money...

Check the label under your laptop or if you have the original DVD of your pc it should be sticked on it.

Check under the battery, it is a common place with Dell laptops.

Please search for a windows 7 label in your notebook

As said by some , check out the product key at the bottom of ur laptop or contact a Dell engineer for the product key of ur laptop

The Product Key should be on a sticker somewhere on the case - on a laptop it's usually on the bottom.

DELL should have a recovery partition, i think if you hit F11 while booting you will have some options like restore point and factory recovery, if you choose the lfactory recovery option Dell will format hard drive and reinstall windows and normally should be activated without from you adding serial. Concerning the serial it should be in that hidden partition.now for some reasons if you have deleted that hidden partition Dell recovery will not function.

I would suggest reading this article:http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/ht/windows-7-key.htmThere are a list of ways how to get your windows product code! You can find other ways online from other articles but, I think the article from about.com is one of the best!

Erlis, your option would have been useful for him if he did it before installing W8, when he had the original OS installed. Otherwise, if he can't find the key sticked in the back of his PC he can request a replacement product key from Microsoft if he still has the original DVD. All he have to do is to call them for free at (800) 936-5700 and answer whatever questions that are asked. The new key will cost 10$ only.

Probably you are right! But I thought he had not installed w8!

simply download windows 7 loader it will automatically provide the appropriate product key means that it will activate ur windows
2012-11-12 07:39:15
Using windows 7 loader means that the software will not have an original product key again! What you are saying means to use a product key that is not legal, and sometimes may run into problems with genuine!
2012-11-13 14:44:37
after using loader there will be no genuine problem and the os will be activated
2012-11-13 15:26:25
I know! But it will still be not an original copy of windows!

Please search for a windows 7 label in your notebook, some you can find in the out cover of the notebook, other is inside battery area. There will be a Serial Number in it. you can use it as long as you install the same version as attach in that label.

The key should be under the laptop but if its been scratched, peeled, etc you have to request for a new product keyhttp://pcsupport.about.com/od/osproductkeys/ht/windows-product-key-replacement.htm

There will be the serial number under the laptop.
2012-11-13 11:19:13

2012-11-12 00:05:40
There should be a label with the code stuck on the bottom of your computer.
