I have read somewhere that ads can be blocked without using AdBlock by using some blacklist kind of thing. I've also seen MUO's topic about the same but that don't include Firefox. I want to know that about Firefox like what MUO told about other browsers here - https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-block-display-ads-in-any-browser-without-adblock/ I only want to block ads on YouTube and nowhere else.

You can use a hosts file to block ads on a system level!

okay thanks. Though I'm not easy with that hacking kind of thing but the article is useful. I found YT Center. I voted the answer as best. Now its up to MUO to mark it as best.

I always avoid downloading from cnet.com. Also the ratings are not good. I want to remove AdBlock. I want something very light. Like some script/text file which can be integrated to FF and block ads. Something like FF's built in FlashBlock, Whitelisting cookies etc. Or if there's any specific addon for just YouTube ads.
