Honor has always been known for offering a boatload of features in its devices. At MWC 2022, the company has announced its flagship Magic 4 series of smartphones packing cutting-edge features like 100W wireless charging, a quad-curved display, 3D face unlock, and more.

Indeed, the device is so good, we gave it one of our coveted MUO awards at the event.

The symmetrical design and the improved cameras are other notable highlights of the device. Check out everything that you need to know about the Honor Magic 4 series below.

Honor Magic 4 Pro

The Honor Magic 4 Pro is the one that's packed to the gills with the best possible technology. It features a 6.81-inch LTPO OLED panel that's curved from all four edges and rated for a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. The display can dynamically adjust its refresh rate from 1-120Hz to deliver the best of both worlds: battery savings and performance.

The Magic 4 Pro features a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) of 1920Hz, the highest ever for an LTPO screen that helps reduce eye strain.

Other key specs include IP68 certification, stereo speakers, 3D face unlock, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and real-time SDR to HDR conversion when watching videos. The pill-shaped cutout on the left corner houses the 3D depth sensor alongside the front camera.

For enhanced privacy during phone calls, the Magic 4 Pro has Privacy Calling that uses AI to prevent sound leakage. It also features Directional Sound that supports transmitting audio from the screen and the receiver, with the output automatically adjusted depending on the environment.

Ticking inside the device is Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip with 8 or 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. It is powered by a 4,600mAh battery supporting 100W wired and wireless charging—that's good enough to fully charge the phone in just 30 minutes.

Honor Magic Pro 4 Camera and Connectivity

The 9.15mm thick Honor features a circular camera array at the rear that sports a 50MP f/1.8 primary shooter, a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide with 122-degree FoV, and a 64MP periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom. This is paired with ToF and flicker sensors. For selfie purposes, there's a 12MP f/2.4 shooter with a 100-degree FoV.

One interesting camera feature on the Magic 4 Pro is the ability to take high-quality photos while recording videos—the quality is not limited by the video resolution as seen on other smartphones. Additionally, the phone can record videos in 4K 10-bit at 60fps.

The Magic 4 Pro is loaded on the connectivity front, too, and features Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-Type C, 5G, NFC, dual-SIM connectivity, and NFC. The phone runs on Honor's Android 12-based Magic UI 6.0.

Honor Magic 4

The Magic 4 packs largely the same specs as its Pro sibling but misses out on some features to achieve a lower price tag.

It retains the same 6.81-inch LTPO 120Hz OLED panel as seen on the Pro model, but it is only curved from the left and right edges. The internals largely remains the same, though the Magic 4 packs a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery that supports slower 66W fast charging.

The phone has the same 50MP primary and ultra-wide cameras but gives up on the 64MP periscope shooter in favor of a lower resolution 8MP sensor that offers 5x optical zoom. Other features missing from the non-Pro model include 3D face unlock and wireless charging, and it has IP54 certification instead of IP68. It also comes with a 128GB option.

Honor Magic 4 Series Price and Availability

Pricing for the Honor Magic 4 will start from €899, while the Magic 4 Pro will cost €1099. Both phones will be available starting Q2 2022, in black, white, cyan, and gold colors. The company will also sell an orange variant of the Pro model with a PU finish.
