CES 2021 saw a demo of HeathyU, a health tracker that will launch later this year and be able to monitor seven different essential biometrics in tandem.

Doing so obviously allows you to keep an around-the-clock eye on your vitals, but also means your doctor will be able to listen to the device remotely to give you an assessment.

Remote doctors have been one of the themes at CES 2021 thanks to the pandemic and stay-at-home mentality.

2020 has put greater emphasis on the need to advance remote patient monitoring technology, which is why we have prioritized bringing integrated sensors and intelligent insights into the home making it easy for patients to use and viable for providers to leverage during care.

But in truth, this isn't a "pandemic play." The HealthyU has practical benefits for people who suffer from cardiovascular disease, when symptoms are prone to fluctuate over days, weeks, and even months. If you are at risk, being able to have a doctor check your biometrics when you're feeling bad without needing to leave the house is a big plus.

Which Biometrics Does HealthyU Support?

The wireless seven-lead ECG can also monitor for heart murmurs, lung sounds, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation levels (known as Pulse Oximetry), temperature, respiratory rate, and blood pressure trend.

A seven-lead ECG stands out compared to the Apple Watch and Fitbit Sense's one-lead, but is still below 12-lead hospital quality.

Using the HealthyU is also easy. Just hold the device over your heart (while making skin contact) and press your index and middle finger from each hand on the correct spaces. You will be able to get your feedback within seconds.

FDA clearance and a subsequent launch is expected in Q2 2021. No price has yet been provided.
