When I start any game my headphones start crackling. Doesn't happen when I'm doing any other work.

First and foremost, try experimenting with other audio settings. If there are not many settings, try googling your problem. Try searching "game_name audio crackling sound". If you told us the game, we could have look into the problem more for you. More details would be great. You can also try updating your sound drivers and/or software.

I think it might be that the problem has to do with the game.. Check the game if it has any option to find the appropriate audio driver..

Are the headphones USB or 3.5 mm jack, and what model (more specific info about your setup)? I have experienced this happening with virtual surround, versus regular stereo.
