Nearby Share is Google's answer to Apple's AirDrop. This file-sharing feature will soon bring the ability to let you share your files with multiple people at once. You'll also be able to share entire folders with this tool.

Nearby Share's Group Sharing Option

A user on Twitter shared that the future versions of Nearby Share will come with the ability to share your files with up to four people at once. You'll be able to connect with up to four users at any given time, and exchange files with them.

This feature is still in preparation which means it isn't currently available to use. Also, the user who posted on Twitter found that they were only able to share files with one person at a time. Sharing files with multiple users caused the file transfer to fail.

This suggests the company is still working on the feature and polishing it before it goes live.

Share Entire Folders With Nearby Share

Another feature Google will be adding to Nearby Share is the ability to send entire folders to the connected users. While the feature currently does allow you to send multiple files at once, you can't actually select folders and have them sent to your recipient.

When this feature becomes available, you'll be able to just tap on your folders and your entire folders will be sent to your selected users.

When You Will Get Nearby Share's Updated Features

As mentioned above, these features are still in the works and there's no official announcement as to when you'll see them on your Android phones.

However, it wouldn't be too many months' wait before you can get to use these features. You can expect these features to arrive in the next few months, if not sooner.

How to Get Nearby Share's New Features

Since Nearby Share isn't a standalone app, you don't need to keep an eye out to see if the app's latest version is available.

These new features will likely roll out with a future Play Services update. Once your phone gets this update, you'll be able to start using these features on your phone.

Nearby Share Gets Better With New File Transfer Options

Google's trying to make Nearby Share as much useful as possible, and we can clearly see the efforts the company is making to do that. If you use Android and you ever need to share files, look no further than Nearby Share.
