Who doesn't love Google Maps? When it comes to navigation and mapping services, you'll have a hard time finding one that can do as much as Google Maps. And as powerful as it already is, Google is constantly updating it with new features that make it even more useful.

Google announced on The Keyword that it is rolling out improvements to the Saved tab that'll make it easier to keep track of the places you've been or would like to visit.

What the Updated Google Maps Saved Tab Does

Overall, the new Saved tab is all about making it easier to remember key places. It takes the existing section of Google Maps and overhauls the UI to make it cleaner and more friendly.

Now, places you've saved recently are moved to a section at the top. If you're looking for a place to eat, and you save a place that tickles your fancy, it'll be quickly accessible right at the top of the Saved tab.

Another new feature shows you places you've saved that are near your current location.

Obviously, this is all about surfacing places that are relevant to you right now. If you're in California and you've saved a place in Egypt previously, you probably don't need that Egypt spot this minute. However, that bakery right up the street might be just what you're looking for.

The final new feature coming to the Saved tab is a list of spots you've visited (assuming you have location history enabled). If you've ever been to a cool spot in a city and had the name of it right on the tip of your tongue, this feature will show you spots you've been to and help you refresh your memory.

Google Maps' New Saved Tab Availability

The update to Google Maps is rolling out now, so you should be able to download the update to your device and get access to it soon. If you don't see the new version just yet, be patient and it should be there shortly.

Most users are seeing it available on Android now, but iOS seems to be a little slower getting the update.
