Google Maps is, without question, one of the best navigation tools available, but it's not without flaws. In case you haven't noticed, the world is a massive place with lots of roads that are always changing. Google knows this, and as such, it's turning to users to attempt to fix any road mistakes on Google Maps.

How to Help Fix Google Maps

Google announced on The Keyword that it is rolling out three new ways for users to submit updates for Google Maps, which will make using it better for everyone. The primary update that caught our attention is the ability to add missing roads or realign, rename, or delete any that aren't correct.

Getting to the part where you update the map is quite easy. You simply need to tap Edit the map and then select Missing Road while on the desktop version of Google Maps.

From there, you'll jump into the map editing screen, where you can easily draw roads, rename incorrect ones, change the direction of roads, and realign or delete wrong streets.

Outside of redrawing roads, you can use this tool to inform Google that a road is temporarily closed. Google even has places to input the dates the road will be unavailable, so other drives will know to avoid it.

As you might expect, Google isn't going to take our word for it. The company says that it'll vet the changes to make sure they're accurate.

New Map Editing Availability

Google says the new features are set to roll out over the coming months in more than 80 countries.
