If you want a no-frills and no-nonsense app use Google video. You can use it from GMail without the need for another window (other than the browser itself). If you, however, want a feature-packed standalone app that can do much more than just call numbers and video chat, go the Skype way.Personally, I would recommend you to have both, as they serve different purposes in different situations. If you live in the US or Canada, go Google. Otherwise, choose Skype.
