Alleged renders of the Google Pixel 6 have already leaked online, showcasing its new design. Now, more renders and specs of the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro have made their way to the internet.
The leak confirms that Google will launch its flagship Pixel phone in two variants this year, with the larger Pixel 6 dropping the "XL" naming scheme for the "Pro" moniker.
The Google Pixel 6 Will Be Bigger Than the Pixel 5
The leak from @OnLeaks details the key specs and dimensions of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. In collaboration with 91Mobiles, OnLeaks reveals that the Pixel 6 will feature a 6.4-inch flat OLED display and measure 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9mm. Factoring in the camera bump, the device will measure 11.8mm at its thickest point.
The 6.4-inch display size will make the Pixel 6 bigger than the Pixel 5 from last year. The leak indicates the Pixel 6 will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, a single bottom-firing mono speaker, and wireless charging.
The display on the device also seems to be surrounded by a relatively large amount of bezels. While the camera setup specs are not known, the Pixel 6 will only come with a dual-camera setup at the rear.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro Will Be the True Flagship
Going by the leaks, the star of the show will be the Pixel 6 Pro. As shared by Digit, the Pixel 6 Pro will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with curved edges. It will also be substantially larger than the Pixel 5, measuring 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm.
Unlike the Pixel 6, the Pixel 6 Pro will reportedly feature a stereo speaker setup. It will also get an in-display fingerprint scanner and support wireless charging.
Two more differences between the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are immediately obvious from the shared renders. The "Pro" model will have smaller bezels compared to the regular Pixel 6. It will also feature a triple-camera setup at the rear, with one of the sensors having a rectangular cutout which likely means it is a periscope camera lens.
Google may use the periscope lens and the bigger display to differentiate between the Pro and non-Pro Pixel 6 models.
Google is reportedly planning on using its custom GS101 Google Silicon chip on the Pixel 6 series this year. This will be the first time the company will use its custom chip inside a Pixel phone, so it will be interesting to see what kind of performance it offers.
There's no word on when Google would release the Pixel 6 series. However, going by the company's previous launch time frame, an October announcement seems to be most likely.
