Everyone loves a good coupon, but nobody wants to go hunting around for the absolute best deal. Fortunately, Google is taking the pain out of coupon hunting by showing you amazing savings via the Google Pay app.

How Google Pay Will Help You Save Money

In a post on The Keyword, Google announced some shiny new features for its Pay app. First and foremost is the coupon system, which looks to be the ideal way to find savings on your favorite groceries.

This new coupon system will show you a smorgasbord of different savings for groceries you may be interested in. If one catches your eye, you can save it for later.

Then, when you go shopping at the selected store, all you need to do is pay using Google Pay. The app will automatically go through your saved coupons and apply any that are valid for the transaction you're making. No more entering numbers or swiping in each coupon; scan the app, and you're good to go.

Currently, this coupon system is only valid for Safeway and Target stores in the US. However, there's nothing to suggest that Google won't eventually roll out this feature worldwide with other stores.

Of course, with all these shiny new coupons to use, you may find yourself buying a little more than you need. Fortunately, Google Pay also has a monthly spending report that keeps tabs on how much you've spent and where you spent it.

You can also search your expenditures to see how much you spent on specific items. Google states that you can search for something generic like "food," and Google Pay will scour your past purchases and return anything related to food.

Finally, Google announced the addition of more cities to its transit ticket system. You can always use Google Pay for contactless transit payments, but this specific system handles buying a ticket in advance and scanning it as you move around the city.

Right now, if you're planning to go for a trip around Chicago or the San Francisco Bay area, you can now purchase tickets on your phone ahead of time. Google is also implementing this system in smaller towns across the US.

Hang On to Those Coupons With Google Pay

Google Pay makes it convenient to pay for goods and services worldwide, and now it's getting even better. Now the app has a built-in coupon finder, expenditure tracker, and expanded support for transit tickets.

Google has to work hard to keep on top of the competition. Apple Pay and Samsung Pay are always nipping on Google's heels, and it's up to them to keep ahead of what everyone else is doing.
