Google has decided to sweeten the deal for anyone using Google One on the 2TB or higher plan. While it was already a reasonable deal for a massive amount of cloud storage, Google has added a VPN to the subscription at no extra cost.

So not only will you have the ability to store just about every file you own in the cloud, but you'll get the safety and security offered by a VPN for your Android phone.

Google One's New VPN

Google announced the new Android VPN on The Keyword, and it sounds like a pretty solid bit of security. The company says that it will encrypt all of your phone’s online traffic, no matter what app or browser you’re using.

You don't even need to download an additional application to take advantage of the VPN. Instead, Google has built it into the Google One app. You need to perform a single tap to turn it on, and your phone is protected from the malicious individuals out there on the internet.

Google also says that you can share your Google One 2TB plan with up to five family members, and they'll be able to take advantage of the VPN as well. That's a nice benefit, as not only will they get to share in your massive cloud storage vault, but they'll get some extra online security on their Android device, too.

If you frequently connect to public Wi-Fi networks with your Android phone and you need a lot of cloud storage, this is a fantastic value.

Google One Pro Sessions

In addition to the VPN, Google also announced Pro Sessions. You can schedule live online sessions with a Google expert to learn more about VPNs and how to stay safe online.

You don't need to pay anything extra. Instead, you need to have a 2TB or higher plan. Of course, you don't have to participate, but it's always nice to get some time with an expert to learn more about staying safe on the internet.

Google One VPN Availability

The VPN by Google One will roll out in the United States in the coming weeks through the Google One app on Android. In the future, Google will expand the VPN to additional countries (though Google didn't say which countries would get the VPN) and to iOS, Windows, and Mac in the coming months.

As mentioned, you will need to sign up for the 2TB plan on Google One, which is $9.99/month or $99.99/year.
