Google’s Nest line of smart home products is taking a step up with two additions. We’ll fill you in on all the new products.

A New Google Nest Doorbell Wired and Nest WiFi Pro

Google unveiled the new Nest Doorbell Wired and Nest WiFi Pro in a blog post.

Designed for homes with existing doorbell wiring, the new device will automatically record one hour of important events to a local memory.

You can also view three hours of event video history for free with clips up to 5 minutes long. An optional Nest Aware Plus subscription provides up to 10 days of 24/7 video history to review.

The doorbell has been designed with HDR technology to capture better detail and without the fisheye effect seen in other doorbell cameras.

Other features include Activity Zones, two-way communication to talk with whoever is at your door, and the ability to differentiate between people, pets, packages, and vehicles.

It’s available for purchase today from Google and other retailers for $179.99. You can choose from one of four available colors.

Google Nest WiFi Pro is the latest mesh network system from the company. The system features Wi-Fi 6E that’s up to twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6.

To give you the best possible speeds, the system constantly analyzes your network to optimize the connection and prioritize high-bandwidth activities like video streaming.

Fitting right into a smart home, Nest WiFi Pro is a Thread border router and Matter hub. Find out more about what Thread means for a smart home.

Nest Wifi Pro starts at $199.99 for a single pack and goes up to $399.99 for a three pack that covers up to a 6,600 square-foot home. You can pre-order now with the shipments arriving on October 27, 2022. Four different colors are available.

Along with the new products, Google previewed its updated Home app. In a blog post, the company is preparing the app for the Matter standard.

Make sure to find out more about Matter and see it in action.

One of the best features is the ability for fast pairing with Matter devices. The app will automatically detect the device and allow you to quickly set it up.

Other new features include a Favorites tab and an improved way to view live camera feeds.

The app will be available as a public preview for Android devices in the future.

Making the Most of the Matter Rollout

If you’re a fan of the Google Home ecosystem, the two new products look to improve an already-robust lineup.

And it’s great to see that Google is making great preparations for Matter in both software and hardware.
