Google is reportedly working on an affordable pair of Pixel Buds similar to its strategy of offering a budget variant of its Pixel phone. The budget earbuds could possibly launch towards the middle of this year.

The "Pixel Buds A" Will Look Similar to the Pixel Buds

9to5Google reports that the "Pixel Buds A" will have a design similar to the current generation Pixel Buds, with only some minor tweaks to its finish. Google plans on offering the budget Pixel Bluetooth earbuds in white and green colors.

The white color will feature an all-white case and buds, unlike the white Pixel Buds, which features black plastic ear tips, wings, and case interior. As for the green Pixel Buds A, it will use a darker tone of green, unlike the mint-ish color of the 2020 Pixel Buds.

The Pixel Buds A will feature touch controls for media playback and quick Google Assistant access. The touch controls should work as they do on the Pixel Buds.

The Pixel 5a and Pixel Buds A Could Launch In June 2021

Google is yet to launch the Pixel 5a this year, and it may launch both these budget devices together towards the middle of this year. Reports indicate the Google Pixel 5a could launch in June 2021.

There's no word on the pricing, but the "A" moniker indicates the Pixel Buds A will be a budget offering that will sit below the 2020 Pixel Buds. The latter is currently available for around $179, which means the Pixel Buds A should carry a lower and more attractive price tag in the range of $100-$120.
