Is the Google app continuously crashing on your Android phone? You are not alone. A number of Android users have taken to Twitter and various support forums online to vent their frustration about the Google app repeatedly crashing on their devices.

The Google app crashing issue seems to be widespread and affecting a lot of Android users worldwide. The problem does not seem to be limited to a device from a particular Android OEM as well. The constant crashes have rendered the app unusable for many users.

Google App Randomly Crashing for Many Android Users

It is unclear why the Google app is suddenly crashing for most Android users. Some users report that the issue started happening after installing the latest Google app update.

In some instances, the app repeatedly crashes in the background leading to a frustrating experience. The constant crashing of the Google app has also affected the functionality of Google Assistant and Google Lens for many users.

Back in March, many Android apps started crashing for no reason at all. The issue was caused due to a server-side problem from Google and required the company to roll out a fix.

A server-side issue or the latest Google app update is likely to blame for this crash since it affects so many Android users worldwide.

How to Prevent the Google App From Crashing on Your Android Device

In reply to a user query, Google's support on Twitter recommended soft rebooting your Android device in a bid to solve the issue. The solution seems to work for at least a selected number of Android users, though others continue to face the issue after the reboot as well.

If the Google app started crashing for you after installing an update, you could try to uninstall the update for it. For this, navigate to Settings > Apps > Google on your Android device and tap on the Uninstall updates option.

The solution seems to work for most users, though it seems to only reduce the frequency of crashes for others. However, until Google gets around to rolling out a fix for this problem from its side, this seems to be the best solution.

If you are not facing any issues with the Google app on your Android device, it would be a good idea to disable auto-updates for the app to prevent it from crashing until Google gets around to permanently fixing the issue.
