I was given some CDs to watch a few days ago. None of my programs seem to read this kind of format, however, I tried it on Windows and it opened with Cyberlink PowerDVD. Is there some program like that for Mac I can download?

Thanks!!

Personally I'm a fan of Flip4Mac for Windows Media format combined with Perian.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/windows-media-player/wmcomponentshttp://www.perian.org/The benefit over standalone players is that they install these codecs as QuickTime Plugins enabling QT to play pretty much all formats you throw it it. This means that not only QuickTime but also iTunes, Preview and Quicklook can handle these files. As a backup solution I currently keep a copy of MPlayerX from the Mac App Store within my Application folder.http://mplayerx.org/Another option is to start your own Media Center e.g. with Plex which is also able to play pretty much all files. There is some initial effort involved in getting Plex up and running but when you are done you got feature rich media center capable of streaming to iOS devices via the PlexApp (WiFi and 3G, automatic encoding and downsampling).

Lara, try VLC Player, it's available for the Mac and comes with all codecs included. It should be able to play your DVD. Get the Mac OS X version here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.htmlAnd do let us know whether it worked! :)
