Android 12 is going to bring a host of new features to the table, many of which are privacy-focused. With this Android version, you'll be able to get notifications when an app accesses your clipboard. This is useful for when you're suspicious about an app accessing your data.

Android 12 Will Bring Clipboard Access Alerts

As announced on Android Developers blog, Android 12 will send you a toast notification when an app reads your clipboard data. This way, you know what app reads your copied information and when. These toast messages will display the app icon so you can easily find out the app reading your information.

If the copied information originates from the same app, you won't get an alert.

How to Enable Clipboard Alerts in Android 12

Clipboard access alerts will be available in the Android 12 beta 2, which has yet to release.

When the feature becomes available, you'll be able to turn it on from the privacy settings section of your Android device.

Those of you using an iPhone with iOS 14 alongside Android can already use this feature. iOS 14 comes pre-enabled with clipboard access alerts.

If you copy sensitive information to your clipboard, Android 12 will tell you what apps are accessing that information. This keeps you in the loop and you know nothing's being shared from your clipboard without your knowledge.
