Why do I get a blue screen of death on my Windows 7 laptop when I shut it down?

Hi,

I have Windows 7 on my laptop and when I restart or shut down the laptop I get a blue screen of death. What could be the reason and how do I get rid of this?

A bad driver after a Windows update may be the cause.

is there any message on your blue screen?if you have windows cd, you can boot on it you can:1) use a valid restore point2) start up repair
